As Blair Hamill explores painting and the vast landscapes of the Rocky Mountain West, his goal is to capture the essence of this amazing region and convey it to others. Utilizing shapes as a basis for powerful compositions then layering tone, color, line, edges and texture into the piece, he's able to capture light, atmosphere and a sense of place in his paintings.
Bair Hamill has spent years exploring the Rocky Mountain West, worked building hiking trails, backpacking, fly fishing and back-country skiing through its mountains. He has used those experiences to learn about, study and sketch the land. Blair studied at Art Center College of Design and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Colorado State University.
